QRP Hours Contest
Have a 80m dipole at home so ready. Cranked the TS850 down to 5w and listened to the CW.
The radio has notch and filtering that helps with the background noise. Even out in the country 80m is noisy.
Once had the stations callsign down gave them a call and moved on to find the next one. 6 contacts on a hour is good for me ! Finished uo working all the SSB stations that I could find.
Apparently the April 2014 lunar eclipse is a sign of the end times as described in the Christian Bible (Acts 2:20 and Revelation 6:12) but the Blood Moon was in full flight at the end of the SSB window and a great sight. Defiantly a sign to call it a night.
It was a good night. Worth the effort.
Thanks Andrew (VK2UH) for posting the email to the SOTA group else would not have been aware of the opportunity.
